Dhahran, Saudi Arabia seems so far away for most, but until he was fifteen, that was home for Josh Glaab. With all the opportunities to participate in sports, Dhahran was a great place to grow up. In eighth grade swimming was the focus and after a season of two-a-days and lifting, the only way he could figure to stay in shape when it was over, was to run home from school. It was long before his running led him to training with Saad Track Club, and Coach Ian Wilson. With a coach intensely dedicated to sharing his passion for running, Josh quickly began to love running too. Only a week prior to moving to Colorado, with some pacing help from coach, Josh ran his first sub five-minute mile.

With the mountains and trails, and another great coach in Kirk Pfeffer, Josh thrived at Monarch High School in Colorado. Pfeffer's goal was to prepare Josh for competing collegiately, and personal records of 9:45 (3200m) and 4:36 (1600m) proved just enough to walk-on to the Colorado State University track team.

With the help of Coach Del Hessel at CSU Josh was the only athlete in the school's history to make 4 appearances at NCAA National Cross Country Championships. Also during his career he earned All Region honors for cross country 3 times, All Mountain West conference honors 9 times, won the 2004 Drake Relays 10,000 meters, and broke the CSU and Mountain West indoor 5000m records.

After college Josh began being coached by Steve Jones and running with the guys from the Boulder Distance Project. Since starting with the group, he has run a PR of 1:05.01 during the US Half Marathon championships, where he was 20th, and he placed 23rd at the US Cross Country Championships. As Josh has developed Jones has encouraged him to run with some of the athletes from Tempo Sports, who are pushing him to new levels in his running.
