Mike Sayenko
As a collegiate runner at University of Washington, Mike Sayenko was a Junior All American at 10k and was a two-time All West Regional team in cross country. He also finished fourth at the 2007 at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships 5k and sixth at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships 10k. His senior year he made his Marathon Debut at the 2006 California International Marathon in 2:19:45 in the process hitting the Olympic Trials A standard at age 22, making him the youngest qualifier.
Post-Collegiately, Mike improved on his marathon in his second marathon at the 2007 US Olympic Trials Marathon finishing 29th place in 2:18:35, being the youngest finisher at the Trials. He has also competed for team USA at the Austin International Marathon Challenge, finishing second overall and falling short of the victory by a mere three seconds. In the process team USA won the competition over Kenya, Great Britain, Canada, and Malawi. Since then he has finished fifth at the 2008 US Marathon Championships in Twin Cities, MN.
